So needless to say this was an awesomely fun session!! I love the style these two have. Heather had on two different dresses one from the 50’s and the other was from the 30’s! This wonderful lady also happens to be a photographer herself, and a talented one at that!
I really could have shot these two for days, it was so much fun!
Heather and Ryan, Hugs to you and thanks for being as awesome as you are!
I recently traveled to Florida to photograph Julianne and Jared, amazing couple! They have been together for years so they were very comfortable with each other and easy to photograph.
They have a fun relationship with lots of laughing so it made for some great pics! Hope you enjoy!
Thanks Julianne and Jared, it was so much fun I really enjoyed my time with you both

I wanted to share a few pics of a fabulous couple I photographed in May. Jen and Drew love photography as a matter of fact Drew’s mom is a photographer in KC. One of the biggest honors in this industry is being tusted by another photographer to share in their wedding day or their childs wedding. the Wedding took place at Saddlebrooke and the reception was at the Tower club. It was pretty much a perfect day with the rain going away just in time for guest to show up. It really didn’t matter what the weather did, with chemistry like this it was going to be an awesome day!
Thank you Jen and Drew!

Newborn Baby Session. It requires a bit more time so we need to schedule for it. I promise you will love it!!

This is one of those images that says so many things. This sweet boy is a new big brother who is very protective of his baby brother.
This family warms my heart, I always enjoy my time with them. Thanks Aiden for always giving me such great moments.
Needless to say it was a great year at WPPI. I had my first platform class that filled up and had a waiting line waiting outside the door. All the photographers that attended have been so kind with the e-mail and facebook messages telling me they loved the class. I hope to speak again soon, I will be writing down anything that happen within our photography business and at Metropolitan Bride (Wedding show and Magazine) that can help others to grow their business.
While at WPPI I won 1st place in Albums (event non-wedding). This alone was a huge honor, it was on a personal project I had been working on for a year. The biggest surprise was when I was presented with the Grand Award for Albums. It is kind of the ultimate to win that award, to do it with such a heartfelt project was very meaningful to me. Thank you to every judge who “got” my story. It was a very different album than most had seen before. Because of the personal nature of this project I do not want to post it on my blog, but I would be happy to direct those to it that want to see it. Send me an e-mail at dawn@dawnshields.com.
Thank you to everybody who has showed me love and support as an artist and a speaker. You all mean so much!
Hugs!
Dawn
